Our Founder
Welcome to Balance Self-Care. My name is Rachel and I am the founder and lead clinician here at Balance Self-Care. I’m glad you have taken the first step in getting support.
Whether you or a loved one are grappling with a life-changing event, looking to process the past, or really just focusing on the future and how to gain helpful tools in your back pocket, I am here.
Remember, reaching out is the first step to regaining your mental health and vitality back. For so many, it’s not one thing that happened, but several trajectory changes that piled one on top of another.
I am a Black British-Canadian therapist with Jamaican heritage, drawing on my diverse experiences to understand the intersectionality of life. I have worked with individuals in three different countries, across various settings, ranging in age from 6 to 75 years old. My approach is rooted in warmth, hope and a strength-based perspective.
I employ a holistic model that is client-centered and trauma-informed approach in my practice and utilize attachment-based therapy, cognitive- behavioral therapy, mindful self-compassion, bereavement counseling, and solution-focused therapy. I provide a safe environment where we can explore your primary interests, determine goals, and develop a treatment plan to fit you and your aspirations. I look forward to meeting you!
